Ratnagiri : Due to rush of passengers during Diwali holiday, proper planning to provide buses and excellent contribution of officers and employees, Ratnagiri division got an income of Rs. Also, the rush of passengers in ST continued for ten days due to the fact that the passengers took advantage of the ticket discount. Alternatively, the income increased.
The State Transport Corporation, which has been losing money for the past few years, has now started to recover. Keeping in mind the rush of tourists during the Diwali holiday, the trains were made available as per the demand of the passengers. During the festive season, officers and employees showed readiness to serve the passengers without taking leave. Trains were diverted to the congested route with some changes in the daily schedule.
The government has provided the facility of half ticket fare to women passengers traveling in State Transport Corporation buses. Senior citizens above 65 years of age have also been given 50 percent discount in ticket fare and free travel discount for senior citizens above 75 years of age has increased the number of passengers in ST.

In the first ten days of November, 4 thousand 500 trips of 644 trains were carried out. A total of 20 lakh 82 thousand kilometers was traveled and an income of 9 crore 54 lakhs was earned in ten days.
