Chiplun : Parashuram Ghat has become an accident prone area during the four-lane construction of the Mumbai-Goa National Highway. While this ghat is in discussion due to the collapse of the road during the monsoons, now it is seen that the traffic in this ghat is also ‘worse’ due to the accidents that occur every day. Due to this, the safety of motorists can now be seen with confidence even after four-wheel drive. More than 75 percent completion of Mumbai-Goa mega four-lane. Some parts of Raigad district as well as Aarvali to Rajapur area are still to be completed. Apart from this, most of the flyovers on the highway are still incomplete. While concreting in Parashuram Patt, soil from the hill was dug up in the face of rain and filled on the side of the valley and concreting was done on that fill in the same year. There is no plan for draining the rain water coming from the ghat.
Due to the pressure of the villagers of Pede, Parashuram, moras were put up in some places; However, due to lack of proper way for the water to pass, the road is dragging in many places in the ghat, the ravines are collapsing and as a temporary solution, the road at the collapsed place is closed and two-way traffic is running on a single lane. Now tenders are being floated by the National Highways to make other measures such as iron mesh to prevent cracks from collapsing on the Konkan Railway line. So will these measures in the future save Parashuram Ghat? This is the question. Even while doing this, the crack that collapsed during the rainy season has not been lifted. Therefore, traveling through the ghats has become difficult.
Parashuram Ghat requires an alternate route
There is heavy traffic on the Chiplun-Khed route. Parashuram Ghat connecting Mumbai-Goa National Highway is important. The Ambadus-Chirni route was continued as an alternative route to the Ghat; But now it is the need of time to create an alternative route to Parashuram Ghat. It is easily possible for such a path to exist through Dhamnedavi. Therefore, creating an alternative route to the highway has become the need of the hour.
