Ratnagiri : To encourage organic farming in the district, organic farming awareness campaign will be implemented by the agriculture department. For this a guidance camp will be organized for farmers in every taluk.
Although the use of chemical fertilizers increases the production, the use of organic fertilizers is important to maintain and increase the productive capacity of the soil by improving its texture. The use of organic fertilizers also supplies sixteen nutrients required for crop growth.
Organic fertilizers improve soil texture by replacing soil particles with nutrient supply. Air continues to circulate in the soil and the temperature of the soil remains low. An increase in the number and efficiency of beneficial bacteria in the soil increases the availability of nutrients. Green manures provide organic fertilizers. Improves the physical and chemical parameters of the soil. For this, farmers will be enlightened about organic farming.
