Nagpur: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has spent Rs 59.29 crore on digital transaction awareness in the last one and a half years. Even after that, cyber fraud of Rs 2,880 crore 17 lakhs occurred in banks across the country during this period. This detail has come out from the Right to Information Act.
*2 lakh 93 thousand 487 cases of cyber fraud occurred in banks across the country between 1st April 2023 and 31st March 2024. In this, 2 thousand 65 crore 68 lakh rupees, 814.49 crore rupees were looted in 1 lakh 40 thousand 930 cases from 1st April 2024 to September 2024. Between 1st April 2023 and 15th September 2024, 59 crore 29 lakh 79 thousand 542 rupees were collected from RBI on digital transaction awareness. was spent. Out of which, Central Bank 5 crore 47 lakh 68 thousand 598 rupees for digital currency awareness, 19 crore 11 lakh 73 thousand 119 rupees for digital transaction awareness, 17 crore 29 lakh 27 thousand 320 rupees for digital transaction awareness week, 17 crore 41 lakh 10 thousand rupees for Aadhaar linked transaction awareness. The authority also revealed that Rs. 505 was spent.
Right to information activist Abhay Kolarkar had sought information about this. Digital transactions have increased in the country, but digital fraud is also increasing. RBI spent about 60 crores on digital transaction awareness in one and a half years. Even after that, fraud cases of 2 thousand 880.17 crores were reported in banks across the country.
