Chiplun : Padmashri Dr. K. H. Gharda passed away on Monday due to old age. Gharda Chemicals Company at Lotte, Gharda Engineering College at Lovell, Dr. who donated a lot to the society in the name of Bai Ratanbai Gharda. He was known as Gharda. He was 95 years old at the time of his death.
He established Gharda Chemicals Limited 40 years ago in Lotte Industrial Estate. This company is working in agricultural chemicals and they have done different experiments in this field. Therefore, the government honored him with the Padma Shri award. Dr. Gharda has received many awards and has been honored at the international level as well.
In Lote and Chiplun areas, he implemented various social welfare programs through Gharda Foundation. Even today, their programs continue. He has also set up Gharda Hospital at Lovell. The company expanded its operations to Lotte and Dombivli. They have their head office at Bandra, Mumbai. Apart from this, the spread of this business has also increased in Gujarat. Condolences are being expressed from Lotte Industrial Area after his death.
