Ratnagiri: 129 villages in the district will be transformed through the Prime Minister’s Adivasi Unnat Gram Abhiyan

Ratnagiri : The central government has given the green light to the Pradhan Mantri Janjajati Unnat Gram Abhiyaan for the overall development of tribals living in remote and extremely remote areas.

This will transform 129 villages in the district. Collector M said that there will be comprehensive development of tribal villages and it will help to raise the social and economic conditions of tribal society. Devender Singh said.

Social and economic empowerment of 6 thousand 998 tribal members in 129 villages of 6 talukas of the district will be done. The necessary funds for this campaign will be available from the central and state governments. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the Pradhan Mantri Janjajati Unnat Gram Abhiyaan in the last budget session. 63 thousand in the country and 4 thousand 976 tribal villages in the state will be transformed through this scheme.

The campaign was approved in a recent cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The campaign is likely to start in the first week of October. It will include various 25 activities implemented by 17 ministries under the ‘PM-Janman’ campaign. Through that, there will be an effort to fill the gap between social infrastructure, health, education, livelihood. The benefit of various schemes of the Government of India will be given through this campaign, taking care of holistic and sustainable development of tribal areas and communities.

Roads, concrete houses, water system, electricity supply, mobile medical unit, Ujjwala gas scheme, construction of Anganwadi center, improvement of nutritional status, skill development training, from the point of view of holistic development of every village where tribal community lives and every tribal family and beneficiaries in it. Giving, benefiting from agricultural development schemes, promoting fishing business, developing tourism, improving the infrastructure of government residential schools and government hostels etc. will be done in a planned manner in the next five years.
