Ratnagiri: The agitation of contract employees has been suspended

Ganapatipule: The decision was taken by the government to privatize around 30 tourist accommodations of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation in various parts of the state. In opposition to this privatisation, the contract workers of Maharashtra were preparing to protest by wearing black ribbons on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The movement was suspended.

Ashok Khamkar, General Secretary of Tourist Development Employees Union, met Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi, Managing Director of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Head Office, Mumbai on 25th September and discussed the demands of contractual employees. In this discussion, Suryavanshi assured to solve all the demands of the employees. Due to this, Khamkar said that the decision to hold the agitation on September 27 has been postponed as per the instructions of the President and MLA Sachin Bhau Ahir of Tourism Development Employees Union.
