At the Gram Panchayat level, tap watermen will be appointed

*Sindhudurgnagari, D-26:-* Maintenance and repair of water supply scheme under Jaljeevan Mission is very necessary. For this, three tap plumbers like mason-plumber, mechanical fitter, electrician pump operator will be appointed at each gram panchayat level based on multi-skills. District Water and Sanitation Mission Project Director Vinayak Thakur informed that at least 1 thousand 293 unemployed people will be provided employment opportunities for 431 Gram Panchayats. 55 lakhs per mansi per day through operational domestic tap connections to all rural households in the district under Jaljeevan Mission. The objective is to provide water for daily use with prescribed quality through functioning taps. Also, availability of technical manpower at gram panchayat level is necessary to maintain and repair the water supply scheme in the district and to sustain the scheme. Under the Jaljeevan Mission, three tap watermen will be selected for each village panchayat with the aim of maintaining and repairing the water supply scheme in the state properly. In each gram panchayat of the district, three for each trade like mason-plumber, mechanical fitter, electrosian pump operator, nine candidates per gram panchayat should be contacted at the gram panchayat level with directions, Aadhaar card and photograph of the concerned person. Out of the nine nominees in the recommendation letter submitted in the prescribed format through the Gram Panchayat, three nominations will be finalized and trained as per pre-screening curum trade from the state level. The skill set defined for this is as follows. For the three trades of mason-plumber, mechanical fitter, electrician pump operator, a person with village experience will be given preference.
