RIYADH —The Film Commission is preparing to launch the second edition of “Saudi Film Forum” from October 9 to 12 in Riyadh, under the patronage of Prince Badr bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, and in the presence of an elite group of specialists and pioneers in the field, and Arab and international filmmakers.
The forum aims to empower and develop the film industry in Saudi Arabia and enhance investment opportunities and partnerships in line with the national cultural strategy based on the relevant goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to build a bright future for the film and arts industry in Saudi Arabia.
This forum is a pivotal platform that includes a series of values in the film industry and contributes to enhancing communication between various actors from production companies to advanced technology providers.
It also aims to develop this vital sector by providing filming and production opportunities, building relationships with leading global entities, as well as strengthening the industry’s infrastructure, supporting emerging companies, and launching qualitative projects with added value.
Film financing and film industry regulation will be discussed through 30-panel discussions and workshops, covering various aspects of filmmaking. In addition, there will be a series of accompanying events, aiming to enrich the visitors’ experience and introduce them to the various aspects of this pivotal industry.
In addition, there will be an exhibition that will include more than 130 local, regional, and international entities specialized in production, building smart studios and cinematic technologies, which are scheduled to showcase the latest opportunities and innovations in this field.
The second edition of the “Saudi Film Forum 2024” comes after the success of the previous edition, which motivated the Film Commission to devote all its efforts to highlight in this edition the economic role of the growing film industry in Saudi Arabia, and attract an elite group of specialists in this field.
This is to enhance the exchange of expertise with their Saudi counterparts, in an effort to develop local film production and establish the presence of a generation capable of taking the helm of this industry, and having an active presence on the international film scene, thus contributing to achieving the goals of the ambitious cultural and artistic vision.
