According to the complaint given by Vijay Shantaram Sawant (68, Markandi, Chiplun) in Chiplun police station, this incident happened on September 17 at 6.15 am. It happened in Markandi. According to the police, when Vijay Sawant was going home with his bike, two unknown persons came from behind him on a motorcycle and asked him for his car’s documents and license saying that we are the police. At the same time these fake cops, why do you walk around wearing jewelry? Saying that thefts have increased in Chiplun, they took away the gold ornaments from Sawant’s body and fled from there.
