Tanaji Daji Shinde (Rest. Ghogare-Jakhnawadi Khed), a laborer, died on the spot after being hit by a sumo van near Bharne Jadhavwadi on the Mumbai-Goa highway. This incident happened on Sunday morning. The sumo driver who fled after the accident was immediately detained by the police at Veral railway junction. Tanaji Shinde, a resident of Ghogare-Jakhnawadi, had come to Warkari Math in Bharne. From there they were walking to Bharne. At the same time, a sumo van going towards Lanja from Mumbai hit him. He died on the spot in the collision. Sumo driver fled after the accident.
