A cargo truck hit seven vehicles including one two-wheeler, three cars and three trucks at Tavandi Ghat on the Pune-Bangalore National Highway on Sunday night. In this strange accident, four people were killed and 11 people were injured. The incident has been registered in the Nipani city police. Among the dead is an old man from Pattankodoli. The other three are from Karnataka. Jabin Mahmadhusen Makandar (age 58, resident Darga Galli, Nipani), teacher Santosh Ganpati Mane (50, native village Bhoj, currently resident Khadaklat), Rekha Sanjay Gadiwaddar (35, resident Khadaklat), Dildar Adilshah Tajuddin Mulla (61, The names of the deceased are Pattankodoli, District Kolhapur. Dildar Mulla and Rekha Gadivadder died in the hospital. Other injured are undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in Nipani. Truck driver Jitendra Mohite was going to Karad from Hubli. When he came in front of the White House Hotel, he lost control of the truck. Santosh Mane and Rekha Gadivaddar’s bike was hit by a truck from the opposite side. After that, after hitting two vehicles namely Container and Eicher, the truck came back towards Kolhapur. He hit a car heading towards Pattanakodoli from Sankeshwar. Jabeen Makandar in the car was killed on the spot. At the same time, the truck hit a car going from Hubli to Satara from the front. Due to this accident, the traffic on the Belgaum-Kolhapur route was disrupted for almost two hours.
