Qatar to be guest of honor at Riyadh International Book Fair 2024

RIYADH — Qatar will be the guest of honor at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024, set to take place from Sep. 26 to Oct. 5 at King Saud University.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Culture, Qatar’s selection as the guest of honor reflects the strong fraternal ties between the two brotherly nations and serves to highlight the historical connections between the countries and enhance cultural exchange and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Saudi Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan welcomed Qatar’s participation in a post on his official account on X.

Qatar’s participation will feature a pavilion showcasing publications from the Qatari Ministry of Culture, rare manuscripts, and various activities for children within the children’s section of the fair. The Qatari folk band will also perform, and there will be cultural seminars, discussion panels, and poetry readings as part of the event’s cultural program.

The Riyadh International Book Fair serves as a cultural platform for literary, publishing, and translation professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge and culture, support the publishing industry, and promote reading. It provides an opportunity to present the latest literary works and publications to readers and enthusiasts.

The fair is known for its large number of visitors and diverse cultural program, and it features extensive participation from Arabic, regional, and international publishing houses, making it a significant cultural event on a global scale.
