Mumbai: On the occasion of Ganeshotsav, 285 liters of adulterated milk was seized and destroyed under a special campaign undertaken by the Food and Drug Administration in Mumbai to prevent adulteration of milk and milk products. Also, action was taken against both in this matter. *Various festivals are celebrated throughout the country between September and December. During this period, there is a huge demand for milk, milk products, sweets, mawa, khawa etc. Foods are heavily adulterated to meet this demand and generate more profit. The Food and Drug Administration has launched a special drive from September 1 to prevent food adulteration. Under this campaign, food items are being inspected at various places in the state. Accordingly, the Food and Drug Administration recently raided two milk vendors in Malad, Mumbai. In this raid, adulteration was found in the milk of Amul, Gokul, Mahanand milk companies. Saidul Agaya Dadpeli (38) was arrested in this case. 122 liters of milk worth Rs 7,222 were seized from him. Meanwhile, 163 liters of milk worth Rs 9,806 was seized from Srinivasulu Ramaswami Bandaru (52).
