Shakti Tura’ folk art from Konkan was performed by Kalarang group from Mumbai at Dadar station

. During Ganoshotsav you can hear the sound of Jakhadi dance which is also known as Shakti Tura in Konkan from every household in Konkan. Today this art has become famous all over the country. Shakti Toora is a traditional art form of Konkan. Shakti means Parvati and Tura means Mahadev. The interaction between these two is Shakti Tura. The ancestral art of Jakhadi dance is being cultivated by the young people of Konkan. This ‘Shakti Tura’ folk art was performed by the Kalarang group from Mumbai at Dadar station and entertained the passengers at the railway station. As you can see in the video, some young women in traditional attire are seen dancing while a tabla and dholki player is sitting in the middle. All the passengers have thronged to watch this dance. Some people are seen shooting videos in mobile phones. Seeing the folk art of our Konkan, the joy is visible on the faces of the servants who left for the village.
