This medicine treats ‘presbyopia’ by reducing the size of the eyes. This method helps to see anything closely. Presbyopia is an age-related condition and works on reducing the eye’s ability to focus on near objects.*Effect lasts for six hours…*Antod Pharmaceuticals CEO Nikhil Masurkar said in an interview to a news channel that the results are visible within 15 minutes after instilling one drop. Its effect will last for the next six hours. If the second drop is administered within three hours of the first drop, the effect will last longer. Until now, glasses or contact lenses have been used for dim, near objects, he said. Sometimes a surgical option was resorted to. *When will it be available?*Antod Pharmaceuticals is a company that has manufactured eye, ENT and dermatology medicines so far. Apart from this it is exported to more than 60 countries. From the first week of October, these prescription-based eyedrops will be available in medical stores for up to Rs 350. This medicine can be given to people aged 40 to 55 years to treat mild to moderate presbyopia.
