A 65-year-old woman of Nandgaon Khurd Gosaviwadi in Sawarde was killed by putting a cylinder on her head on Tuesday. The accused Swapnil Khatu has been arrested within 24 hours by police investigation. The incident took place in Gosaviwadi on Dahihandi evening. Aged retired police officer Parashuram Pawar and his wife Sunita Pawar lived in the house. His son lives in Mumbai and is working in the police force. On the day of Dahi Handi, Parshuram Pawar went out of the house. But when he came home in the evening, he saw darkness in the house. He turned on the light and saw his wife lying in a pool of blood. He immediately informed the police about the incident. According to the police, Sunita Pawar was killed by putting a cylinder on her head. Also, the mangalsutra of three and a half tolas on his body and the bangles in his hands were looted. It turned out that the accused was in the neighborhood. The police arrested the accused Swapnil Khatu. As the said woman said to the accused that you are stupid, he got angry and in that anger he confessed that he had killed and then he said that he was going to steal the jewels.
