*Kankavali, D-24:-* Heavy traffic jam was taken up on Friday afternoon during rush hours to clear the potholes on Achra Marg between Appasaheb Patwardhan Main Chowk and Lakshmi Chitramandir. Without any planning, Kankavali residents along with motorists had to bear the brunt of the work of filling these potholes. Doubts are also being expressed about the quality of this work, which was done in full rain without doing this work when it has been raining for the last four days. In the city of Kankavali, the motorists had to struggle as the road between Main Chowk and Lakshmi Chitramandir on Achra Marg was heavily potholed. During the old post office, the number of potholes was large. The road was closed by the Nagar Panchayat around 2.30 pm on Friday by installing barricades to cover potholes. Traffic on this route was diverted through an alternative route to Masurkar Kinai near Gango Mandir. Basically, traffic jams are a regular feature on Achra route. Therefore, when there was less traffic on this road at night, when there was a need to take up the work of plugging the potholes, this work was taken up during peak hours. Due to this, there was a huge traffic jam. The alternative Masurkar Kinai route has many vehicles parked on both sides. Therefore, it was necessary to open an alternative Kinai route before taking up the work of filling the road potholes. Heavy traffic carrying Chire passes through this Masurkar Kinai route. Due to this, parking, heavy traffic and increased traffic had to be suffered by many people. Motorists expressed displeasure over the work undertaken to fill the potholes without any planning. A question was also raised as to what is the purpose of doing the work when the rains start instead of doing this work during the non-rainy period.
