🎴Vengurle, D-26:- Gram Panchayat is seen as the foundation of village development in local self-government. Huge funds are being made available at the Gram Panchayat level through various finance commissions and it is rightly expected that this will lead to sustainable village development.
Today, 50 percent reservation at the Gram Panchayat level has given women a golden opportunity to contribute to the development of the village through politics. While some women seem to have embraced this opportunity, it is a fact that some women still do not take this responsibility seriously.
Women who are pioneers in multi-faceted fields today are working as members at the Gram Panchayat level, what will be the exact role of 'she' in the development of the village? Or is her voice still suppressed? Vetal Pratishthan Sindhudurg Tulsa and Cai. An open essay competition has been organized by Ganesh Laxman Dabholkar Cultural Forum, Dabholi.
The competition is open to existing Gram Panchayat women members. For essay writing, the topic is *'Role of Women in Village Development: Reality and Expectations'* in minimum 700 and maximum 1000 words, women should express their opinion on the related topic in Marathi language along with Gram Development Officer or Sarpanch in case of Gram Panchayat member. It is mandatory to attach a letter of recommendation. Prizes of the competition are as follows: Cash Rs.1001, 701, 501,351,351 each for first, second, third, incentive first, incentive second place respectively along with a picture frame, certificate and medal and digital participation certificate will be awarded to all participating contestants.
